It’s beginning to look at lot like Christmas, of course! This week we will be carrying on with concert practices, as well as continuing our Social Studies unit on Christmas celebrations around the world! Also, book report projects are fast approaching and, once again, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. With being away and then having sickness strike the class, we are a little behind with the writing process for the book report, but we will be finishing up this week.

Christmas Concert Reminders

This year we are very pleased to be presenting the musical Christmas Shop Around the Corner on Thursday, December 14th, with a matinee performance at 1:30 pm and an evening performance at 6:30 pm. Students are asked to return to school for the evening performance by 6 PM to prepare for the stage.  As family, you will want to grab your seat early as we are expecting a very large audience. Please take note that the dress code for the concert is red, silver, white, or black special dress clothing.  Girls are asked to please wear dresses or skirts and boys are asked to wear a dress shirt and dark pants that are not jeans.

French Test

Mrs. Laird asked me to remind students that they are going to be having a French test on Unit 1 this coming Friday. She has sent study sheets home with the students and they will be reviewing the material in class again on Tuesday. There will be extra marks awarded if students complete the practice test she has given them.

Bible Memory Verse

I apologize, but I forgot to include the next Bible memory verse in last week’s post. It is John 1:14 and is supposed to be due on December 13 (although this may have changed because I do not think students will be having Bible on that day as it is our last concert practice): “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.”
