First of all, congratulations to the elementary students on their fantastic Christmas musical performances this past week! All your hard work and dedication to delivering the true message of Christmas is admirable. To those who attended, thank you for your kind words and support. If you were unable to attend the performance live, or if you’d simply like to watch it again, the entire performance can be viewed on our GCS YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vq01B-mWuMI

Just for Fun: Christmas Theme Days

Well, Christmas is a-comin’! And here at GCS we like to get in the holiday spirit by being a little goofy!

Throughout our final full week of classes, students from K-12 are encouraged to participate in a variety of fun dress-up days.

  • Monday: Christmas Hat Day
  • Tuesday: Christmas Hair Day
  • Wednesday: Christmas Pajama Day
  • Thursday: Red/Green Day

Trip to the Mount

On Thursday, December 21, we will be travelling to The Mount to minister to the seniors there by singing songs and reading stories. Students are encouraged to bring in their favorite Christmas storybooks as my supply is quite limited. We will be leaving at 9:35 and returning to school for 11:00. Drivers are needed for this event, so please let me know as soon as possible if you can help in this way by indicating on the permission form.

Half Day Christmas Party

On Friday, December 22, we will have a special half-day Christmas party in each classroom. We will end our year with games and activities for the kids! Please be aware that the day ends early and students are to be picked up at 12:00.

Library Books

Mrs. Biech would like all library books returned so that she can do her inventory before the new year. Please check around for any books that you know came from the school and send them in with your child. Library class is held on Tuesday, but Mrs. Biech will be accepting books all week.

Upcoming Assessments

  • Tuesday – Language Test 5
  • Wednesday – Spelling Test 12 (this is the continuation of last week’s list); Bible Memory Quiz (this was moved as Mrs. MacGonnell felt that the majority od students needed a bit more time)
