Greetings! Our year is shaping up to be one for the books and this month is no exception. Take a peek down below at all the fun-filled events planned for our GCS community. All very near on the horizon!

Science and Technology Week

It’s that time of year again when staff and students of GCS celebrate our Creator and the wonder of science! We have lots of activities planned for this week. Please note that Tuesday, October 16 is Dress like a STEAM Professional Day (STEAM standing for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math). That means that your child can come to school dressed as a person in any occupation that would use these disciplines. It is sure to be a fun-filled week of learning!

International Potluck Supper Save the date!

This coming Wednesday, October 17, from 5:30 – 7:30 pm, all Grace Christian School and Grace Baptist Church families are welcome to join us for our fall potluck supper. Families that attend should bring a dish to share that will feed 6 – 8 people. If your last name begins with A – L, we ask that you bring a dessert or salad to share. If your last name begins with M – Z, please bring a main dish to share. GCS will supply the drinks and fun! There will ice-breaker games and prizes for getting to know the most new friends.

Hot Lunch

There will be no hot lunch this week.

Fall Party
Grades 1-2 will be traveling to Island Hill Farm for their Fall Party. Island Hill Farm is a commercial dairy goat farm. As a part of Science and Technology Week, students in grades 1-2 will learn how goats’ milk is made into a variety of products including soap and cheese. Students will see 8 different breeds of goats, a miniature donkey, alpacas, and potbelly pigs, with a variety of hens and bunnies to handle and love. We will require drivers for this event. We will be leaving the school at 12:00 and leaving Island Hill Farm at 2:30. The cost for this trip is $8.00 per student. Please return your money and permission slip by Wednesday, October 17th.
Please indicate if you are able to drive. *Your child will still need a packed lunch and snack as we will be eating at school before we leave.
