Good afternoon parents!

We’ve had another great week of learning, exploring the prairies and interion plain region in Social Studies, finding out what information to keep to ourselves online in Digital Literacy, and tackling new concepts in Math and Language. I am looking forward this week to getting students set up on their own SeeSaw account, where they can share and view one another’s work.

Cross Country Meet

We welcome parents to join us in cheering on our grade 3-6 students as they compete in the annual Cross Country Meet on Wednesday, October 10th. Grades 3-4 will run the 1.5 km race while grades 5-6 will run 2 km. Students are asked to come prepared with running shoes, a GCS T-shirt, layers of clothing (in case it is cold), and sunscreen (in case it is hot!). Also, students should pack a healthy snack and water bottle. We will be leaving the school at 9AM and travelling by bus to the Terry Fox Sports Complex in Cornwall. We will return to school by noon.
GO KNIGHTS GO!

Bible Memory Work

Students in Grade 4 this year will be learning the names and order of all the books of the Bible beginning with the Old Testament. In class, Mrs. MacGonnell will be helping students learn these using a certain rhythm and phrasing. However, students must also practice their memory work at home to be successful.

International Potluck Supper

Save the date! On October 17 from 5:30 – 7:30 pm, all Grace Christian School and Grace Baptist Church families are welcome to join us for our fall potluck supper. Families that attend should bring a dish to share that will feed 6 – 8 people. If your last name begins with A – L, we ask that you bring a dessert or salad to share. If your last name begins with M – Z, please bring a main dish to share. GCS will supply the drinks and fun! There will ice-breaker games and prizes for getting to know the most new friends.

Science and Technology Week

Grace Christian School has dedicated an entire week to celebrating a love for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.  Throughout the week of October 15th-19th, students in K-12 will participate in several activities to enrich their learning in these four disciplines.  Please watch for a full schedule in the coming weeks.
