Another great week has flown by in our grade 1/2 classroom. Our first month has been full of learning and getting to know each other. I look forward to the rest of the school year with the eagerness and enthusiasm within our class. Keep an eye on important dates to be up to speed on holidays and PD days this October.

PD Day– No Classes As important as it is for your children to be learning and growing academically, so to is the case for us teachers. On Friday, October 6th, students will not have classes as the teachers from GCS participate in a professional development day.

Detour & Construction

The Government of PEI has issued an update on the status of the construction at the Capital Drive intersection (by the Esso/Tim Hortons near the school). Although the work was due to be completed today, they are now stating that the earliest that the intersection will be open to traffic is October 4 or 5. Please continue to use the alternate routes that you’ve been using to get to school each day. We will notify you when construction is complete and the intersection can be used again.

Lunch Orders

For both milk orders and school lunch orders, we ask that you send money in a sealed envelope. On the envelope, please write the following: Name of the student, the amount in the envelope, and the purpose of the money. Sending in money this way helps the teachers keep orders organized. In an effort to keep our morning routine running smoothly, we will be collecting money for both milk and lunches only on Wednesday morning.

Tests This Week:

Wednesday: Gr. 2 Math test
