Hello GCS Grade 6 families,
I hope you are all doing well with our current change of circumstance. I am thankful we have the technology to continue to learn during this time.
If you haven’t already, I would encourage you to read Mrs. MacNeill’s update email sent around 11 am this morning.
Grade 6 Specific Information:
Math:
I have assigned Mathletics work for each student. We are currently in a monthly challenge to be the top class at GCS. The more work students put into Mathletics, the more points we get towards being the top class. Please encourage your Grade 6 student to log-in and work on some math. Please email me if your child does not have their login information. I will provide it to you.
Language:
Mrs. Thorne is encouraging all Grade 6 students to keep reading during this time. Students have a reading challenge that they are participating in, in addition to the previously mentioned math challenge.
The spelling test will be given on our first school day back. The Limerick will be due that day as well.
Science Fair:
The GCS Science Fair has been rescheduled to Thursday, March 11. Please note that we will continue to update students as information about in-school learning is shared from the Chief Public Health Office. Students are encouraged to use the next 2 days to continue working on their project boards, presentations, and reports.
Thank you for your patience as we spend the next few days out of school. Please continue to check your email frequently for updates from GCS.
You can reach me by email during the day.
Sincerely,
Mr. Olsen
