Good afternoon parents,

During the ACSI Teacher’s Convention, I was refreshed to hear a keynote speech on characteristics of a vibrant Christian school. It was wonderful to have affirmation that what we have here at GCS is right on target with the characteristics mentioned! I feel blessed and honored to be part of a school that offers a first-class education with a biblical worldview integrated into every subject, has strong leadership, and features teachers who love, disciple, and inspire their students for God’s glory. With that begin said, our school is now seeking to grow! Check out the exciting news below:

Ground-Breaking News!

The founding of Grace Christian School became a reality because of the vision and determination of those who recognized the need for quality education taught from a Biblical worldview.  We are delighted to be continuing God’s mission work here at GCS as we prepare to expand our facilities and accommodate the growing interest in Kingdom education.

The time has arrived to begin the construction of our new facilities. We are thrilled to announce that we are moving forward in developing and building new infrastructure to allow for greater growth in enrollment and to provide for the future success of our students in the disciplines of academics, athletics, technology, the arts, music, and English-language acquisition.  We invite all parents to join us on Monday, October 30, 2017 at 2:30 PM as our entire school community comes together to celebrate God’s timely blessing of new infrastructure at a sod-turning/ground-breaking ceremony.

Additional information will be sent home with your child in the coming days regarding new important protocols and procedures, as well as details outlining the specifics of the Buy A Brick Campaign.  Please continue to pray over us as we endeavor to follow God’s leading here at GCS.

Skipping a Spelling List and Then Combining with Social Studies

This Friday we will be having a combined Social Studies and Spelling Test on the continents and oceans. We have covered the continents and oceans in class and will review them every day this week, but students will need to study at home to do well. There is a study sheet in the spelling folder which looks exactly like the test that students can use to study. Please note that this is SPELLING LIST 7. We’re actually going to skip List 6 as, for some odd reason, the weeks are not aligning well with the themed lists this year. Also note that the Social Studies portion of this test test is for everybody! ESL students will need to be able to identify the location and names of the continents and oceans, but not spell them correctly. These students have taken home a study sheet in their agendas.

Bible Verse

The next Bible memory verses which students have already been practicing in class come from a passage in 1 John all about love. It will be due on November 7th.

“Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.  Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.  This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.” – 1 John 4:7-9
