Greetings! We have had a fun-filled week at GCS with our first skating day and our Cheer team’s big performance at the storm game. During events like this it is overwhelming how much support we have as a school from our parents. So I’d like to thank all of you for all you do in helping these events take place. Please take note of more important events below as we near our March break.
Skate Days:
The students will be travelling to the APM Centre in Cornwall again this Thursday for an elementary skate. Skate times are scheduled for 1:30-2:30. Students are required to have skates, mittens, and a helmet in order to participate. Students who do not wish to participate in these skating days are asked to be picked up at the school at 12:15 on these dates.
Extra Cheer Practices:
Our GCS cheer teams are preparing to participate in the Island Cheer Expo on Sunday, March 11 at 3:00 PM. Please take note the additional practice times for this week – Tuesday from 3:00-4:30 and Thursday at lunchtime.
Tests This Week
Wednesday: Phonics
Friday: Spelling (Grade 1 List 17) (Grade 2 List 18)
Grade 2 have started their vocabulary portion of their spelling tests. Please encourage your child to practice writing out their three vocabulary words along with the short definitions beside them.
