Dear Grade 6 GCS Family,

Thank you to both parents and students for working hard on both academics and sports this week.

In Math, students finished their measurements unit and wrote a test.  We will be moving on to factoring next week.

In Social Studies, students are working together on researching a few Canadian WW1 battles.  Students will present their findings next week.

Science and Technology Week:

It’s that time of year again when staff and students of GCS celebrate our Creator and the wonder of science! We have lots of activities planned for next week, including a robotics demonstration, a 3D design challenge, and chemistry stations. Please note that Wednesday, October 20 is Dress like a STEAM Professional Day (STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math). That means that your child can come to school dressed as a person in any occupation that would use these disciplines. It is sure to be a fun-filled week of learning.

Volleyball Team Photos:

Next week, GCS will be taking team pictures and headshots for this year’s volleyball teams. Headshots will be taken at lunch time and team photos will be taken after school with the coaches. Please take note of the day that you are scheduled to have your pictures taken so you are prepared with your uniforms (shirts and shorts):
