Although it has been a school year like no other,  Grace Christian School has continued to fuel each students’ potential to become the leaders, thinkers, and innovators that tomorrow needs.  Over the past months, GCS has celebrated many achievements and have unveiled several new opportunities for our students.

The incredible news of Samuel Lowe being named a 2021 Loran Scholar, earning a scholarship valued at $100,000, set the stage for many of our grade 12 students who have also been awarded significant scholarships and program offers at many of Canada’s most prestigious universities.  We look forward to celebrating the achievements of our graduates in the weeks ahead.  Stay tuned on our social media pages for more information on each grade 12 graduate.

Our students continued to be recognized for their innovation and scientific inquiry at this year’s virtual Provincial Science Fair. Lucas N. placed 2nd overall in the intermediate division, earning the Roger’s Innovation Award, while Jonathan N. earned a 3rd place finish overall in the intermediate division.

The accolades did not stop there. Four of the GCS robotics teams competed in the regional Robofest competition, hosted by Acadia University. We are proud to say that all four teams qualified in the top 10 in their divisions this year, with our senior high team (Anna P. and Robyn B.) qualifying for the online World Championships in September.

On the heels of this great news, GCS has also launched their summer camps.  In July 2021, Grace Christian School will host its first Knight’s Summer Camps for students in grades 1– 6. These half-day camps will be led by GCS staff, many of whom have been recognized on the regional, national, and international stage for their work in science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics, and athletics.  We look forward to extending the GCS learning experience beyond the school year calendar and beyond our current student body.  For more information visit https://www.gcspei.ca/gcssummercamps/.

Mid-April presented yet another unique opportunity for GCS students.  In partnership with Andrews Sports Institute, we are now offering our High Performance Training Program (beginning 2021-22) for students in grades 10-12.  This academic-credited course will train student-athletes to increase their speed, power, strength, and flexibility on-site at Andrews Sports Institute, while also allowing students to earn up to three high school credits. Additionally, GCS has announced the addition of a Band Program to their extracurricular-repertoire.  More details will be launched online in the coming months, however we look forward to inspiring, encouraging, and challenging our students to grow their God-given talents.

We give God the glory for all these blessings.  We look forward to seeing what else He has in store for GCS as we strive to finish this year well.
