It’s time for your weekly update from our classroom.  Take a peak at what’s happening:

Project Based Learning Presentations:

Students in Gr 6 have been working on a project to identity potential ways local restaurants can reduce their use of plastics in hopes of reducing the waste that ends up in our oceans affecting the PEI fishing industry.  I am extremely proud of the students who have worked collaboratively to prepare.  We are hopeful to be able to live-stream the presentations THIS Tuesday, May 14, between 1:00 – 3:00 PM so you can join us, but at the very least will record them to share with you all.

Mother-Daughter Tea:

Calling all mothers, daughters, and grandmothers!  A reminder that tomorrow, May 11th, at 2:00 PM is the mother-daughter tea party for those who registered through their homeroom teacher.

Father & Son Bowling Event:

Calling all GCS boys.  We invite you and your father, grandfathers, and great-grandfathers to an evening of bowling at Murphy’s Bowling Alley on Friday, May 17th from 6:00 – 7:15 PM.  The cost per bowling is $7.00.   Please return your son’s permission slip and payment for each bowler by Thursday, May 16th.

In-House Track & Field Meet:

Students in Grades 3-6 will participate at an in-house track and field meet on Friday, May 31 from 9:00 AM – Noon.  Each student will participate in various events with the hopes of qualifying for the ACSI Track Meet in June.  More information and permission slips will be provided in the coming weeks.

ACSI Elementary Track Meet:

All elementary students in grades 3-6 will attend the annual ACSI Elementary Track Meet at UPEI on Wednesday, June 5th.  Many of our students will be competing in various track events, however all students are encouraged to join us in cheering on their classmates.  Parents are also welcome to attend this event. More information to come!
