The joy of the Christmas season has been proclaimed from the voices of the children young and old, as they shared traditional carols and a full musical production at this years Christmas concerts. What an amazing gift to be able to serve the families and friends of GCS by sharing the true meaning of Christmas.

Learning through service allows every student at GCS to move their focus from themselves to the needs of others. Not only does this expand their sense of compassion for others, but also allows them to demonstrate how Christ can use them to make a difference at any age.

Students are taught to look beyond themselves from the early age of 4 and develop a genuine desire to serve others in their community and beyond. Throughout their educational journey at GCS, students become even more equipped to serve others around the world through special service projects and service mission trips, gaining a greater appreciation for what God has blessed them with.

Throughout the month of December as students celebrate the greatest gift, Jesus Christ, and His ultimate display of service, every student at GCS takes part in a Christmas service project. It is through these 12 days of giving that we hope to share the love of Jesus with others and help them celebrate the truth of the Christmas season.

On the 1st day of Christmas, GCS gave back by sending over 150 Christmas boxes to Ukraine through Operation Christmas Child.

On the 2nd day of Christmas, Kindergarten & Jr. Kindergarten gave back by preparing and serving a meal to the school’s administrative assistant staff.

On the 3rd day of Christmas, Grade 1 & 2 gave back by delivering their Classic Christmas Concert for residents of the Geneva Villa. They also enjoyed visiting with residents and learning about how they celebrated the birth of Jesus as young children.

On the 11th day of Christmas, Grade 11 and 12 planned to give back by singing Christmas Carols for the shoppers at Missions Thrift Store. Thanks in part to the unpredictability of a PEI winter, the students still plan to serve at the Missions Thrift Store in the New Year.

On the 12th day of Christmas the elementary staff and students gave back by purchasing a Brick Of Honour in the names of those who served to construct the new elementary academic wing of GCS.

It is a blessing to see our students growing in their desire to serve the Lord by serving others. On behalf of all the staff and students of GCS, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year.
