Welcome to a new week, everyone! As of yet, we have not managed an uninterrupted week in this New Year! Perhaps this will be the week? Full steam ahead, in any case! Here is what’s planned for this week as well as other upcoming events to keep in mind:
Love of Reading Week:
Monday – Creative Character Costumes – Come dressed as a character from story you enjoy.
Tuesday – Bring a Brilliant Book – Bring in a book that you enjoy to share with your class.
Wednesday – Magnificent Mysterious Match-Up – Test your literary knowledge with a quote to book matching activity.
Thursday – Perfectly Patterned Page markers – Create a special bookmark to hold the spot in your reading adventure.
Friday – Snuggly, Sleepy Storytime – Wear your PJs and bring a favorite bedtime book.
Skating & Skiing For Elementary:
An official permission slip outlining all the details of the skating trips was sent home on Thursday, and skiing events information for elementary will be sent home with your child in the future.
Students are not required to have their own ski gear, nor are they obligated to attend this event. Elementary students in grades 3 – 6 will ski twice throughout the winter months at Brookvale Provincial Ski Park and lessons will be provided for students who require them. More details provided in the future.
Students that wish to participate in skating must have their own skates and helmet. Students are not obligated to participate, however should they wish to, please make arrangements for them to acquire the proper skating equipment. Elementary students in grades 1 – 6 will skate two times throughout the winter months.
Parent-Teacher Interviews:
As the weather caused a cancellation of last week’s interviews, please note that the new date is this Thursday afternoon from 3:15-5:00PM, on a first come, first served basis. Interviews last 10 minutes.
Have a wonderful week!
