Good afternoon, GCS families:

We had a wonderful visit to Orwell Corner last Wednesday! Students engaged in hands-on activities such as grinding barley wheat to make bread, churning butter, squishing apples to make cider, milking a goat, and even square-dancing. It was a great educational day filled with laughter!

This week, students will be starting a unit on South America in Social Studies. In Math, they will be learning how to multiply fractions with whole numbers. And in Art, they will be completing a stained-glass cross to celebrate Jesus and the upcoming Easter holiday.

Mathletics

We have four more days to go in our Mathletics March Madness Competition! Last time the scores were checked, grade four was in the lead. We will have to wait until Wednesday to find out which grade will win the class pizza party and which student from grade four scored the highest overall. Keep working on those math skills, students!

Junior Achievement Business – Senorita’s Fashions

Students from grade 12 have been developing their own businesses as part of the Junior Achievement Program. This year, we have students who created and are selling earrings and pins. An order form for Senorita’s Fashions went home last Friday. If your child is interested in purchasing anything from these students, they are extending the order date until Thursday, April 1.

Food Drive

For their Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award Residential Project, students in high school are hosting a food donation drive for the school. They are challenging each class to bring in as much food as possible. There will be a grand prize for the class that donates the most! The food drive will run until April 1.
