Good afternoon, parents:

What a wild week that was! I pray that you all weathered the storm and can find much to be thankful for, even with the prolonged power outages. During Fiona, I kept thinking of the song by the Christian group Casting Crowns which goes,

And I’ll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
And every tear I’ve cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm

Isn’t it wonderful to know that God is always with us, even in the midst of trials!

On Monday, we will be doing a little writing about the students’ experiences this past week. Writing can be very cathartic and, as a going through a hurricane is hopefully something none of the students will ever have to go through again, good for looking back on as a unique event.

This week we will also be learning about long division and money in Math, mixing secondary colors in Art, asking good questions in Genius Hour, and showing kindness online in Digital Literacy. In Social Studies, we will review the features of map and globes, and learn about how cartography shapes our understanding of the world. We will then move on to a survey and review of the Canadian provinces and regions.

School Pictures

Say cheese! This Thursday students will have their picture taken by Lifetouch. These pictures are used for the school yearbook so students should bring their best smiles!
