Dear Grade 4 families,

Thank you for your patience as we all adjusted to the return to school after Fiona, some with power, some still without. I pray that as we enjoy this Thanksgiving weekend, all of us will see our electricity restored.

Bible Memory Verse

Our class’s first Bible verse quiz was postponed for one week, due to the impact of being out of school. this Friday, October 14th. It is this year’s theme verse, and is very fitting after the past week:

Romans 15:13 (NIV)

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Spelling this Week

We will be resuming with our study of List 3, which was introduced on the last day we were in school. The quiz will be on Friday.

Cross Country

On Wednesday, students who qualified will be travelling by bus to Terry Fox Sports Complex for the annual Cross Country Meet. More information and a permission form will be sent from Mrs. Laird shortly.

Community Outreach Project – Planting Seeds of Kindness at the Soup Kitchen

Every fall, the classes of Grace Christian School perform acts of love and generosity in the community for the Planting Seeds of Kindness initiative. This year, grade four students will be providing, preparing, and serving a meal at the Upper Room Soup Kitchen to help those who are less fortunate. I have asked each student to bring in food items so that we can make chicken wraps for roughly eighty people. If you are not able to provide these items, please let me know as soon as possible and we can make other arrangements.

Food should be brought to school on Wednesday, October 12th to ensure that we have all the ingredients we need. We will be leaving for the Soup Kitchen at 9:15 on Thursday, October 13th.

Knights Harvest

Grace Christian School has established deep roots in the Island’s educational landscape over the past 43 years, impacting the lives of many students, families, and our greater community. We have continued to flourish as a private Christian school, thanks in part to the generosity of our stakeholders.

Your gifts help us expand our current programs and develop new programs and services to support our growing student body.  Your gifts allow us to expand and improve our infrastructure, purchase modern curriculum and extracurricular resources, and most importantly, help stabilize our bursary fund to ensure that every student meeting our entrance requirements has access to an exceptional 21st century, Christ-centered education.

This thanksgiving season, we will celebrate the countless blessings God has showered on Grace Christian School with The Knight’s Harvest: A Celebration of Thankfulness. It is our prayer that GCS families, friends, and community supporters will demonstrate their thankfulness for Grace Christian School with a financial gift this Thanksgiving season. Together, we can empower future generations of Knights, so they can impact others for the glory of God!

How to Give

Gifts may be given in the form of cash, cheque, or e-transfer.  Please make all cheques payable to Grace Christian School.
