Greetings! Happy Saturday! Our first full week of classes is now in the books and what a great week we had. We have finished our personal narrative unit in language, and have completed our first math and spelling test. This week we will be reviewing long division in Math and grade 3 and 4 grammar concepts in Language. Check below for information regarding classroom learning, assessments, and important dates.
Planting Kindness:
As part of the GCS effort to plant kindness in our community, Grade 5 is embarking on a project to show our support of others. Grade 5 will be collecting bags and boxes of candy for the fifth grade classes at West Royalty. It is our goal to put smiles on their faces amidst a rocky start to the school year.
If each student could bring in one box or bag of candy. Candies should be individually wrapped within the bag or box. Please do not send in chocolate, to avoid any nut allergy risks.
Terry Fox Run:
On Wednesday, September 29, Grace Christian School will participate in its twenty-first annual Terry Fox School Run. In their respective cohorts at scheduled times, students will run, jog or walk laps of the school soccer field in tribute to Terry Fox’s Marathon of Hope.
Students will not be canvassing for pledges but donations will be gratefully accepted beginning Sept. 23rd until Sept. 29th by homeroom teachers or through e-transfer. To electronically donate, use the email tuition@gcspei.ca with Terry Fox in the subject line and the student’s name in the message.
All funds received will be sent to the Terry Fox Foundation to assist in the ongoing fight against cancer.
