Welcome back to another week of online learning, though it’s a short one!  I pray that you all had a lovely weekend celebrating the Resurrection of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ!

Report cards will be sent home digitally this week, so please keep an eye on your email on Thursday.  We are now beginning our fourth (and final) quarter of the school year.  We will continue learning online for at least another four weeks.  With that in mind, please remember the following guidelines:

TIER ONE:  (Daily emphasis must be placed on literacy, numeracy, and health & wellness)

  • Students in K-6 should complete daily work in Math, Language, & Reading. These activities should not exceed a total of 1 hour/day, and these assignments should be completed first.
  • Students in K-6 should complete 20 minutes of physical activity each day.

TIER TWO:  (Students are strongly encouraged to complete a weekly assignment in Science & Social Studies, but only after all literacy and numeracy activities have been completed and students have participated in a health and wellness activity.)

  • Students in Grades K – 4 will have Science & Social Studies once per week, with the lesson and activity assigned according to the new schedule below.  Grades 5 & 6 will have Science & Social Studies twice per week.
  • All Science & Social Studies class assignments should not exceed 20 minutes.

TIER THREE:  (Students have the option to complete activities in other elective courses throughout the week, but only after all tier one and two activities have been completed for the day.)

  • Students will complete activities in the following elective courses once per week: French, Art, Music, Bible. No French for our K class.
  • These activities must be assigned on the day indicated below.
  • Activities should not exceed 20 minutes.

Physical Education Activity Logs

Daily exercise and getting outside every day is an important part of maintaining good health and well-being and should be a special part of your daily routine. We recommend and encourage students and families to be physically active for at least 20-30 minutes every day.

Throughout the week, students are to be recording what they do each day to stay physically active. At the end of the week a Seesaw activity will be posted for students to complete. The OLD expectation was that students were to have the log submitted by the end of the day on Monday. STARTING THIS WEEK, students will be expected to have the log filled out and submitted on Seesaw by the end of the day the activity is posted.

Please contact Mr. Wood at mwood@gcspei.ca if you have any questions.
