Language 1 – pg. 65-66.

Special assignment – Build something at home with any kind of blocks or lego (or cardboard boxes if you don’t have either). Take a picture of yourself with your creation and type one sentence about what you built. I will pick 3 students pictures to share with the class.

Math: Arithmetic 1 pages 167, 168, 169.

Wednesday

Language Arts:

Phonics Vocabulary – review your vocabulary words for this week. Focus on words 6-10 and try to think of a sentence for each word. (You do not need to record any part of this activity).Phonics Vocabulary List: *every, *instead, wash, wand, adopt, away, baby, sunny, little, and wanted.

Reading – Record yourself reading the story sent to you in seesaw

Writing – After you finish reading, write the answers to the questions about the story on paper (any paper is fine, printing the document is not required) and take a picture of your work. Remember to use full sentences, your neatest penmanship, and proper capitalization and punctuation.

Math: Arithmetic 1 pages 170 (q. 1-2), 171 (q. 1, 2, 4)

Thursday

Reading – Go to www.getepic.com and read the “Spring” book assigned to you in “my library.” Try out the quiz at the end of the story. Take a picture of a sign of spring you can see around your house (ex. buds on a tree, plants starting to grow in the garden, a robin or other migrating bird, snow melting, etc.). Directions for using getepic.com: go to https://www.getepic.com, click on “login”, “student/educator”, next add class code “gjh8246”, press “go”, select “my library” and select the book, “Spring.”

Math: Arithmetic 1 pages 172 (q.1), 173

Ordering non-sequential numbers from least to greatest. Click on the link. Select “Ordering.” Select “Forward 1-100.” Put the non-sequential numbers in order from least to greatest. After you have completed that, select “Menu” and try “Forward 1-999.”

Language Arts:

We have practiced measuring by comparison by using a balance scale. You can also measure weight using kilograms and grams. Practice measuring using a weigh scale: https://www.ictgames.com/mobilePage/mostlyPostie/index.html

This activity will be new to students so they may need some guidance from parents at first. Click on the link. Select “kg and half kg.” Click on the package and drag and drop it on the scale. With an adult’s help, read the scale and select the amount it weighs. Then select “check.” Keep trying until you can read the scale yourself.
