Dear Parents,

We are down to two weeks of school left until Christmas break! You can feel student’s excitement in our halls as Christmas draws nearer. Our class had a blast last week as we learned about hockey as one of the symbols we celebrate in Canada. We watched some game highlights from a Habs vs. Leafs game and chose teams to cheer on. We also had a chance to play miniature hockey with tiny hockey sticks.

Christmas Card Secret Santa – Writing and Enrichment Class Project

This week our class will learning a bit about the mail system and the things needed to send mail. Each student will be working on making and writing their own Christmas Card for a classmate. Each student will send one card and receive one card in the mail. Please send one stamp into class by Wednesday so we can send these out for each student. If you have moved and the school does not have your current address, please send it in with your child so no one is left out. We all know how much children enjoy getting mail and I hope this will be a fun, festive learning experience for our class.

Homework: students were sent home with 1 penmanship page, 1 sight words page, and their new spelling list on Friday. Please note that this week’s list is another tricky one that may take a little more time. We will not have a spelling test next week (the week of Dec. 13-17).

Christmas Outreach

This week is the last week to bring in items for our outreach to the seniors at the Prince Edward Home. Our class has been asked to bring in lip balm, Chapstick, lipstick, nail polish, or manicure sets. We have lots of room for additional items. A big thanks to everyone who has already brought in items.

Important Dates

Friday, Dec. 17 – Last day of classes (1/2 day)

Wishing you a wonderful week! As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.
