Week of Feb. 16, 2021 in Grade 1
I hope you are enjoying the long weekend with your family. Students had a wonderful time celebrating Valentine’s Day on Friday. Thank you for bringing in cards and treats. This week is “Love of Reading Week.” There are number of special theme days and activities to look forward too. See below for details. This week students will be learning about nouns, suffix rules, adding three digits, and understand the concept of a quarter past in time.
Homework: Students will take home one sight words page and will continue learning their spelling list.
Tests: Students will have a phonics and math test on Thursday and a spelling test on Friday.

Terrific Titles Tuesday – Bring a favorite book to school
Wild Wednesday – Bring a “wild” friend to read with today
Theatrical Thursday – Dress up as a book character
Fantastic Friday – Dress in your favorite color and bring in your coloring sheet for a prize.
