Here we go again!  Hopefully everyone managed to dig out after another wild storm!  Those sledding hills are looking mighty tempting for some of the kids, I am sure.  THANK YOU parents for continuing to work with your child each day to make sure he/she is completing the necessary tasks and hopefully gaining some development in responsibility as well.  I definitely appreciate not needing to chase students for assignments and am very proud of the work they are producing!  Way to go parents and kids!

Zoom Call
This week we will have a whole class zoom call on TUESDAY, January 18 at 9:30am. I am sure the students will love getting to see each other and I am looking forward to seeing their smiles!  For this meeting, I would love to have each student share a silly poem as we begin our poetry unit this week.  I will share a couple websites tomorrow for them to find one to share.

I would ask that each parent share with me the email that you would prefer the ZOOM link be sent to.  I don’t want any student to miss out so let me know the best email (which family member/guardian they are with at that time) and I will send the link about 10 minutes prior to the meeting.

Theme Days

Monday – MARVELous Monday: Dress-up as your favourite superhero

Wednesday – When I Grow Up Wednesday: Dress-up the way you would for the career you want when you grow up.

Friday – Farm Day Friday: Dress-up as a farmer or your favourite farm animal.

Student Participation:
Daily emphasis will be placed on literacy, numeracy, and health & wellness.  Most of the students’ daily assignments and classwork will be graded in all elementary Language, Phonics, Reading, and Math courses. Students who do not complete the graded assignments during the period of remote-learning will be expected to complete them once they return to school in order to acquire a grade in these courses for second quarter.  Please ensure that daily work in Math and Language are completed in full.
