Dear GCS Grade 5 Families,

We have one more week left in quarter two! Thank you for your patience and flexibility with the two days of school closures this week.

We finally completed our novel “Number the Stars” by Lois Lowry! Next week, students will be asked to turn-in their study guides they completed with the novel.

Parent-teacher conferences are scheduled for February 9th. Mrs. Vessey and I, look forward to seeing some of you there!

A Friendly Reminder: Dressing for the Weather

As we all know, our winter weather can be unpredictable at times. Please ensure that your child comes to school each day fully equipped for outdoor play. “Must have” items include: A warm winter snow suit (this includes snow pants), winter boots, mittens/gloves, and a winter hat. An extra pair of socks and gloves are not a bad idea, either!

We stay indoors when it is raining, when the playground is too covered in ice, and when it is colder than -20 degrees Celsius. Otherwise, we go for some much needed fresh air and movement.
