What a way to put Growth Mindset to the test!  In such a very short amount of time, our world has been flipped upside down and inside out.  And yet…what resilience we all have shown!  I want to take a moment to praise the students on their ability to embrace this new way of learning and I encourage them to remain focused on their lessons as the weeks go on.  In this time of change, we can take comfort in knowing that there will always be one constant: Jesus.  He is our firm foundation and nothing can shake that.

I also wish to thank you, parents, on your willingness to ensure that your children continue their education from home.  Thank you for providing them with an environment in which they feel safe and one in which they can learn. Thank you also for your patience as I learn the ways in which I can continue to teach your children from my own home.  These are uncharted waters for most of us!

Each weekend this blog will contain a general outline of the work that will be assigned for the coming week.  This will allow for easy access rather than having to scroll through everything on Seesaw — the posts sure do pile up after a few days!  Each day on Seesaw I will give a detailed description of the day’s work.  This will be written in a Seesaw Journal note which will accompany my morning welcome video.  It is very important that you, parents, check that your children’s work is done by the end of the school week (or by specified due dates).

With that being said, have a safe and healthy week, and know that you are all being prayed for daily!

Mrs. Smylie

Here is this week’s outline:

Daily Physical Education Expectations

  1. Daily exercise and getting outside every day should be a special part of your daily family routine – we recommend at least 20-30 minutes a day.

We will include some activities and ideas to do with your child from your home or neighbourhood. Please use your discretion and follow all of the PEI Public Heath’s directives.
  3. Make sure that it is submitted into the Gym folder on Seesaw each Monday.
  4. From time to time we will be asking your child to submit on Seesaw videos of themselves doing our Physical Fitness weekly challenges.
