How is it possible that it is already mid-May? We have only one month of school left! I am ever-thankful that we’ve been able to spend all of our school year (minus 3 days) participating in in-class learning. May we remember what a blessing it is!

What’s Going On?

In Math, students have been working on the steps involved in multiply 2- and 3-digit numbers by 2-digit numbers. We have now begun the review of all that we have learned in Math this year! In Language Arts, students have been learning to identify prepositions in a sentence. This Unit continues this week, and we will wrap it up by week’s end. In Social Studies, we have begun our Unit on Antarctica. This week, each student will create a small poster to illustrate what they have learned about the coldest continent.

Track and Field:

Grade 3 students will be participating in an off-site track and field meet on Tuesday, May 18th in the afternoon.  Please return your child’s signed permission slip and waiver form on Monday.

Over the next few weeks, GCS will be having theme days as follows:
Monday, May 17th (tomorrow!): Sports Jersey Day
Tuesday, May 25th: Twin Day
Tuesday, June 1st: “Canada” Day (since we don’t get to celebrate this during the school year)
All GCS students are encouraged to participate; however, these are optional!
