The countdown is on to the end of the school year.  Only three weeks left! Please take note of the following items related to our grade two class this week.

Gym: On June 1st, we will be performing our dance routine during chapel. We are very excited to show the elementary what we have been working on. Thank you for supporting our efforts by practicing at home. Please continue to do so as we near our performance date. The song we are performing to is called Here With Me by Gateway Kids. On the day of our performance students should wear either a blue, yellow, or white t-shirt. Also, students should wear black pants. They may be black leggings, jeans, or dress pants. Girls should come to school with their hair tied back in a ponytail or braid. You may view a recording of the performance on our Grace Christian School Facebook page.

Maritime Electric Contest:

Students in Grades K-6 can enter for a chance to win one of three baskets filled with school supplies valued at $500 for their classroom.  To enter, download an electrical safety colouring or activity sheet below to learn all about electrical safety. Grade two completed these in class on Friday, and were sent home in their blue folders.  Students can submit completed artwork using the entry form below. You can also enter by emailing your artwork to

Dress Code Reminder

With the change in seasons, and as your children continue to grow out of their clothing that fit them last fall, we wish to provide you with this reminder.
As stated in the GCS Handbook the school’s overall dress code standard is modest, clean, neat, and appropriate. Shorts and skirts must not be shorter than just above the knee, which is typically to the tips of the fingers on most children. Girls are permitted to wear sleeveless shirts as long as the straps are wider than three finger widths (please no shirts with thin spaghetti straps). Clothing with a rebellious or negative message are considered dress code violations.

All kindergarten and elementary students must have a second pair of shoes to be worn inside. According to provincial regulations, kindergarten and elementary students are required to wear socks at all times while at school. Sandals are not permitted for this reason.

We are thrilled to see our elementary students wearing GCS apparel on a daily basis. We are even more excited when we see our parents embracing their GCS pride and purchasing clothes for themselves. For those wishing to purchase GCS apparel, please visit one of our online clothing stores at New items are being added regularly.
