Once again I am amazed at how quickly the year has gone by. We have been blessed to have a full year of in class learning. As we look to the week ahead, please take note of the following regarding our grade two class.
Island Hill Farm:
We are excited to be taking grades 1-3 to Island Hill Farm this Thursday, June 3rd for their year end field trip. A permission slip was sent home with your child today. Please sign and return the permission slip by Wednesday, June 2nd. The cost per student is $14.00 and the preferable method of payment is through etransfer by Wednesday, June 2nd. You may send an etransfer to email@example.com and use the password islandhill. Please also indicate your child’s name in the memo section.
We will be traveling by bus to the farm, leaving the school at 9:00 am and will return to the school for 12:30. Students should bring a snack and water bottle. We will eat lunch once we return to school. Please ensure that your child has proper footwear for the farm.
Humane Society Donations
Grade 5 students, Jack and Penny, have organized a donation drive for the PEI Humane Society for their Genius Hour project. They have been collecting donations of cat supplies, food, and toys. The last day to bring in donations will be this Monday, May 31st. If you would like to support their Genius Hour project and the Humane Society, please bring in donations Monday morning.
This Week in Grade Two
Language: Students will begin spelling list # 28. Students will begin to learn about editing as we edit our quick writes.
Math: Students will continue to review concepts learned throughout the year as well as begin a short time and money unit.
Social Studies: We will finish social studies this year by exploring the Interior Plains region of Canada.
