What a beautiful weekend it has been! I hope you have all had an opportunity to get outside and enjoy the glorious weather! This week is the start of the second quarter of our school year! As we prepare to begin a new week, please take notice of the following announcements and reminders.
Healthy Snacks for School
I enjoy a sweet treat just as much as anyone! However, please include healthy snacks in your child’s lunch. It is so important to nourish the brain in the morning, and I’m afraid chocolate and chips just don’t do it. These treats may be enjoyed after a good lunch, but should not be sent for morning snack. Thank you for your cooperation.
Christmas Concert
A reminder that Mrs. Wilting has requested that all students have a long sleeve black top, black pants, and a pair of black socks for the recording of this year’s Christmas Presentation. All items should be sent to school in a Ziploc bag labelled with your child’s name by Tuesday, November 9th. Recording begins on Wednesday, November 10th.
Operation Christmas Child Shoe Boxes
GCS is once again participating in Operation Christmas Child and students brought home shoe boxes to fill last week. Please consider blessing a child who would otherwise receive nothing this year! It is very easy to fill a box and it teaches our children what it means to help those in need. When filling the box, please remember to add the $10 to help cover the shipping costs (charitable donations of $20 or more will receive a tax receipt from Samaritan’s Purse). We are asking that boxes be sent in to school by Wednesday, November 17th.
