Dear Parents,
I trust you have had a good weekend. We had a great science and tech week. Our class participated in an experiment and numerous STEM challenges. It was amazing to see students work together to develop and build creative problem-solving solutions. The future is bright! This week we will be learning how to count by 5’s, recognizing Canadian coins and their values, understanding compound words, many new special phonics sounds, and more. We will also be finishing up our Social Studies: Community unit by working together to create a model community together in class.
Library: Library books are due on Tuesday.
Homework: Students will be working on sight words, a penmanship page, their current Bible verse (Genesis 1:26-27 NIV), and spelling list #5.
Tests: Students will have a colour words recognition quiz on Monday, phonics and math test on Wednesday, and spelling test #5 on Friday.
Christmas Concert: Mrs. Wilting has sent out guidelines for this year’s Elementary Christmas Musical Production when it comes to dress code. She is asking that all elementary students wear black pants and long sleeve black shirts. We will be recording our performance again this year, and this will occur during the mid November. Mrs. Wilting has asked that all students pack their performance wear in a Ziplock bag, labelled with your child’s name, by November 9th.
