Happy Thanksgiving to you all!  May we take the time this weekend to reflect on everything we have to be thankful for, including how our Grade 3 class really stepped up and blessed a family for Thanksgiving!  Thank you, parents, for encouraging your children to share with others.  It was so heartwarming to see just how much joy the students felt at watching the items come in and fill our shelves (and then the basket)!

Social Studies

This week we began our map project as part of the Grade 3 Social Studies curriculum.  We have been exploring different types of maps and using Google Earth to see what different landforms and bodies of water look like from far above so that each student will be able to create a map of their own for this project.  I encourage you to ask your child about their creation!

Spelling

The next list in our Spelling program is a tougher one than most and we will be spending the next 2 weeks learning the list words.  The list is made up of all the Canadian provinces and territories.  Students will be learning the correct spelling as well as where each province/territory is located in Canada.

In-House Cross-Country

Usually during the fall, we travel to Elliot River for the annual Cross-Country Meet. This year, however, students will be running the race at our own school and submitting their time. Race Day is scheduled for this Thursday, October 15. Please make sure your child comes prepared with a water bottle and appropriate clothing.

Have a lovely long weekend!
