As we begin the final week of October (wait, WHAT?!), please take note of the following announcements:

Dressing for the Weather

Please check the forecast for each day and ensure that your child is coming to school prepared for outdoor play. Although the “high” temperature for the day may seem comfortable, morning recesses are often still on the cool side. Extra socks are strongly recommended due to wet grass on the playground. It is far better to come with more than is needed than to come without and need what we don’t have.

Sniffles and Coughs

It’s definitely that time of year! Coughs and runny noses are on the rise as colds get passed around. This is nothing new, but due to our current and ongoing circumstances, please follow the CPHO guidelines that have been implemented for school.

Math

Although we try very hard to make sure that math books don’t have to go home, sometimes it is necessary to do so (to finish the day’s work, catchup on corrections, or make up work that was missed due to absence). If your child has brought the math book home, please make sure that the work is being completed (a Post It note with what needs to be done is always stuck to the front cover).

Christmas Concert

On Friday an email was sent out to the parents of elementary students regarding the upcoming Christmas production. In an effort to make the search for the requested clothing, Mrs. MacNeill sent an email on Saturday with some helpful links:

As many of you are already aware, Mrs. Wilting has sent out guidelines for this year’s Elementary Christmas Musical Production when it comes to dress code.  She is asking that all elementary students wear black pants and long sleeve black shirts.  We will be recording our performance again this year, and this will occur during the mid November.  Mrs. Wilting has asked that all students pack their performance wear in a Ziplock bag, labelled with your child’s name, by November 9th.

In true Mrs. MacNeill fashion, I have you covered when it comes to shopping!

Given the challenges to find these items locally in the correct size, I have compiled a list of items from Old Navy in hopes that this will reduce the time you’ll need to set aside to shop.  Many of these items can be picked up locally if they are in stock, and if not, shipping is very quick.  Rush delivery options are also available. Please find below a list of items that would meet these guidelines!

Old Navy:  Girl’s Black Tops

Old Navy:  Girls Black Pants

Old Navy:  Boy’s Black Shirt

Enjoy your weekend, and “Happy Shopping”.
