Hello, I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend. I am thankful that we were able to have another full week of learning at GCS. In language class, we are finishing up our review of grammar concepts from grade 3 and 4 to ensure we have a solid foundation moving forward. Math is picking speed as well. This past week students learned several techniques with estimating the quotient and began finding the average. Each of your students have shown a diligence to succeed and work hard to understand new things. I am very proud of all the work they have put in during this first month. Please take note below of important dates and assessments.
Cross Country
On Tuesday, October 5th, Grade 5 will be participating in a Cross Country run here at the school. Please ensure students are prepared and have their water bottles for this event.
Test Folders
Test folders went home on Friday. Please look through them with your child and send all assessments back to school.
Homework
Students are expected to complete 2 pages in math each class. It is not my goal for students to go home with math work every evening. Please join me encouraging your child to use their time wisely, and to ask questions when they are stuck.

Wednesday – Math Test
Friday – Bible verse quiz and spelling and vocabulary quiz (List 3)
Important Dates:
