Dear Parents,

We finished our short week well and were able to catch up on many lessons already. Thank you for your participation in Seesaw activities on the days school was closed. Thankfully, it looks like we will be in class again tomorrow and we look forward to our first full week. Please make sure your child returns all their workbooks tomorrow morning. This week we will be reviewing more letter sounds, learning the two vowel rule, introducing addition, practicing counting to 100, and enjoying some fall art projects. Students will also be able to take home some levelled readers from our in-class Super Reader Library (see below for more details).

School Supplies

If you haven’t already, please bring in a tub of playdoh and some washable Crayola markers for your child’s use. Please label both with your child’s name.

Homework

Students will be sent home with a penmanship page and a sight words page for homework. We will have a sight words recognition quiz on Friday (number words one-ten). These are due Friday. Students are also encouraged to continue reading nightly (and filling their star chart) and working on memorizing their Bible verse.

Super Reader Library:

This week students will begin having the opportunity to bring home multiple books from our in-class Super Reader Library. These are books I’ve personally sorted by level and are intended to meet and extend your child’s current reading skills. These will come home in your child’s homework folder, inside a brown envelope. You’ll notice large coloured dots on them indicating the reading level. Super Reader in-class library and our school library day is on Tuesday. Please help your child remember to return their books on Tuesday so they can choose new books.
