Last week the grade one class met their Super Student Reward target and we had fun doing some sidewalk chalk together at the end of the day on Friday. Every student got 100% on their first sight words test! Way to go! Thank you for partnering with me to help grow our little readers knowledge base. Please ensure students bring their homework folders and agendas back to school daily. We will write in our homework for the week on Mondays.

This week we will be practicing counting to 100 accurately writing numerals 1-10, learning more addition concepts, becoming familiar with ordinal numbers, identifying long and short vowel sounds in words, applying the two-vowel rule, and much more. We look forward to another great week ahead.

This week’s homework:

  • Continue studying Bible Verse #1
  • This week’s sight words: five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten. The homework practice page is due Friday. Students will be tested on their ability to recognize these words on Friday. Please practice with them nightly.
  • Any math or language work that is not finished in class may be sent home
