I would like to express how tremendously proud I was of our Grade Three class (as well as Grades 4-6!) during our Cross Country Event at the Terry Fox Complex on Wednesday. Not only did each and every student run the full length of the course, but they did it in less than pleasant weather conditions and kept their smiles! What an example they were to all the students (and teachers) taking part from other schools!
Science and Technology Week – October 15-19
It’s that time of year again when staff and students of GCS celebrate our Creator and the wonder of science! We have lots of activities planned for next week, including a Let’s Talk Science Presentation, a robotics demonstration, a coding and mapping activity as we prepare to navigate the Belfast Corn Maze, and a science-themed art class. Please note that Tuesday, October 16 is Dress like a STEAM Professional Day (STEAM standing for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math). That means that your child can come to school dressed as a person in any occupation that would use these disciplines. It is sure to be a fun-filled week of learning!
International Potluck Supper
Save the date! This coming Wednesday, October 17, from 5:30 – 7:30 pm, all Grace Christian School and Grace Baptist Church families are welcome to join us for our fall potluck supper. Families that attend should bring a dish to share that will feed 6 – 8 people. If your last name begins with A – L, we ask that you bring a dessert or salad to share. If your last name begins with M – Z, please bring a main dish to share. GCS will supply the drinks and fun! There will ice-breaker games and prizes for getting to know the most new friends.
Fall Party – Trip to Belfast Corn Maze
For our annual Fall Party grades 3-6 will be travelling to Belfast Corn Maze on Thursday, October 18. Students will enjoy various activities such as the corn blaster, mini tractor-bike races, an obstacle course, a bouncy pillow, ball hockey, and basketball, as well as the complicated maze itself! The permission form for this outing was sent home on Friday. Please ensure that it is returned ASAP!
