We have no scheduled work for Friday, May 1st as we take part in another Mental Health day for teachers and families. Thank you for all of your hard work. Page 12 – on #3 change the 12 pennies to 3 nickels, 24 pennies to 5 nickels, 9 pennies to 2 nickels, and 52 pennies to 15 nickels.

Also, complete the 18 Subtraction Activity on Seesaw by using your answers from #1 on page 212 and #3 on page 213.

SCIENCE
Have you ever seen a big cruise ship or fishing boat and wondered, “How does that boat float?” Students will investigate this question through a fun hands-on activity that integrates science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
FRENCH
Fill in the blank body parts on page 34. Post a video of you singing Tête,épaule, genoux, et pieds.
GYM
A new version of the physical activity log will start this week. Students in grade 1-4 will not be required to record what they’ve done to stay active throughout the week anymore. At the end of the week students will simply indicate “yes” or “no” to the question, “Did you participate in at least 20 minutes of physical activity each day?” in an activity posted on Seesaw.

SOCIAL STUDIES
Draw or construct a habitat for the animal below that lives in the Canadian Shield Region. Use the information to help you make your habitat for a black bear.
Black Bears: can live in a variety of habitat types. They live in both forests full of evergreen trees and forests full of oak, maple, and aspen trees. They typically don’t live in wide-open areas, except along river courses where there is vegetation and trees. They live in areas that are hard to access by car and far away from humans.
Post a video to Seesaw sharing your habitat in the assignment titled Canadian Shield – Animal Habitat.

Write a paragraph on which season you think is the best using the structure in the assignment titled Best Season on Seesaw. Watch the video before completing the assignment. Use the microphone to read your writing after you complete the activity.
Also, write 5 complete sentences (Capitals and end-marks) using the following spelling words from List 21: Dr., Vowel, Scout, Cloud, Mr.
Using the note tool on Seesaw, type your sentences in the activity titled. List 21 – Sentences.
BIBLE

From what you’ve read so far of Picky Peggy, complete a character sketch of Peggy. Step 1: Draw Peggy Step 2: Write down 5 character traits on the left Step 3: Write down 5 physical traits on the right.
For a Penmanship activity this week, copy down the following sentences on a piece of paper. Be sure to space your letters correctly on the line.
*You may use lined paper, and use two full lines with the line separating them to be used as the middle line.*
Jenna and Rick ran to catch the bus.
They took their seats at the back with their friends.
Rick was looking forward to a field trip at Pinewood Farms.
Jenna was busy thinking about whether or not she would get her math test back today.
They arrived at school in record time and ran to their classrooms eager for the day ahead.
After you have finished writing the sentences above, take a really clear picture of your work and post it to the activity titled, Penmanship Quiz.
