Greetings! Wow! It is May! The sun is getting warmer, the grass is getting greener, and the birds are getting chirpier. I am finding a lot of joy through God’s creation these last few weeks. Even when it seems like the world is on pause, God’s power is still being shown through the changing of the season. Take a moment today to appreciate the beauty of spring.

Watch from the beginning of the video till the time of the video is 11:40 and post a video answering the questions below to the activity titled Moral of the Story – Franklin.

Question #1: What should Franklin have done when his parents asked him to clean up the fort? 

Question #2: What was the moral of the story?

Question #3: Share a time when you had to learn a lesson the hard way. 

SOCIAL STUDIES

Choose a Canadian province or territory to write a rhyming jingle for. Your goal is to persuade people to want to come visit. Your rhyming jingle should be 6 lines in total. Lines 1 and 2 should rhyme at the end, lines 3 and 4 should rhyme at the end, and lines 5 and 6 should rhyme at the end. Make sure to talk about great attractions and the natural beauty of the province or territory you chose.

For example: If I was making a jingle about PEI I would mention attractions such as: Shining Waters, Crowbush Golf Course, Downtown Charlottetown, and Blue Mussel Cafe. For natural beauty, I’d talk about PEI’s beaches, rolling hills, and our walking/biking trails.

Before completing this activity watch the video in the assignment titled Moral of the Story. Write your own 4-6 paged story with a main character learning a life lesson. 

Your story must include:

  • At least 3 characters
  • A main character who learns a lesson
  • Complete sentences
  • An obvious beginning, middle, and end. 

Beginning – main character does not listen when being told something important.

Middle – main character gets into some sort of trouble because of not listening.

End – main character learns the lesson of the story (moral of the story).

They were so excited to see everything their classmates had made.

They filled their boxes to the brim with cupcakes and held them tightly as they walked to school.

The school smelled like sugar and the classrooms were filled with laughter.

Finally, over the speaker, the principal announced, “Let the bake sale begin!”
