Hello all! I hope everyone is having a great mild weathered weekend. We had a blast this past week learning more about the olympics and taking part in different olympic games on Friday. Our olympic reading challenge is coming to a close tomorrow and we ask that each student brings in their form that they have been recording their reading activities on.
Skating Days
Throughout the month of March, elementary students will have the opportunity to participate in skating days! This year, we will be traveling to the APM Center in Cornwall on three separate dates: March 1, 8, and 16. Skate times are scheduled for 1:30-2:30. Students are required to have skates, mittens, and a helmet in order to participate. Please be on the lookout for a permission form being sent home early this week with additional details. Students who do not wish to participate in these skating days are asked to be picked up at the school at 12:15 on these dates.
Winter Clothes
I’d like to remind parents to make sure their child comes to school with a warm winter jacket, snow pants, mittens, and a hat. All of these things are needed to make recess enjoyable. We go out twice a day and with enough snow we go sledding. If a student does not have all of their winter clothes with them they are unable to sled.
Cheer Team Half-time Show
We are thrilled to have the opportunity to showcase the amazing talent of our GCS team at an Island Storm game this Thursday, March 1st, at 7:00 PM. Please mark you calendars and be on the lookout for more information from Mrs. Able.
Tests This Week:
Wednesday: Phonics
Thursday: Math
Friday: Spelling (Grade 1 List #16) (Grade 2 List #18)
A reminder for Grade Two parents that our spelling lists now involve writing out three vocabulary words and their definition. The vocabulary is in a box to the right of their spelling words.
