Greetings! I hope everyone has had a great Christmas break. Thank you for all of your generous Christmas gifts and for your dedication toward your child’s success so far this year. I feel blessed to have all of your children in my class and I looked forward to the new year with them. I’d like to remind you all as we finish up second quarter to continue to check both your child’s agenda and blue folder for homework and to not hesitate to email me at cjenkins@gcspei.ca if you have any questions or concerns. Homework
Every night your child should be reading from both their handbook (Assigned pages found in their agenda) and a book from home, writing out their spelling words two times in their homework notebook, and reciting their memory verse. Additionally, if your child does not complete their seatwork in class it will be sent home in their blue folder. Please check through the “Back to School” side each night. This work should be completed and sent back to school the following day.
Back To School
Classes at GCS will resume on Monday, January 7th at 9:00 AM, however we recommend that students arrive at 8:45 to get settled into their classrooms. Students should come prepared for a full day of classroom instruction.
Winter Weather Reminder:
As we experience more winter-like temperatures and weather conditions, please remind your children to come prepared for outdoors. Students are encouraged to carry a warm hat and mittens in their backpacks everyday and to come dressed in a warm jacket. Snow pants and winter boots will also help your children stay warm and dry as we enjoy the winter weather and fun in the snow.
For students who arrive prior to 8:45 AM, please note that students will not be permitted to go inside the school to gather their winter gear. Please have them arrive dressed for the winter conditions.
Bricks Of Honour:
The Bricks of Honour initiative calls on all stakeholders of Grace Christian School to recognize their personal capacity to give and to act upon it.
To purchase a brick in honour of staff, students or alumni, please forward your payment in one of the following ways:
1) Return the pledge form and payment to your child’s homeroom teacher,
2) E-Transfer your payment to cthorne@gcspei.ca allocating your gift towards the campaign, or 3) Visit tithe.ly and set up your online monthly giving plan.
