Welcome back! My name is Mrs. Martina Biech and I am excited to be joining the elementary staff in a larger role again this year. I am looking forward to getting to know your students more this year!
Our theme verse for this year is:
“Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and His understanding no one can fathom.” Isaiah 40:28
A great reminder that God is always with us. He will never get tired of loving us or walking with us through everything we face in life.
First Day of School
Our first day of school will be Tuesday, September 7. Drop off for elementary students will begin at 8:35am. Class begins at 8:45am. Parents are asked to stay inside their vehicle and to drop off their child in the drive-thru drop off zone only. Grade four students will enter and exit through the doors at the far end of the elementary hall. The elementary school day finishes at 2:45pm. Parents are asked to pick up their child promptly, once again using the drive-thru drop off/pick up zone.
Please send in all necessary school supplies on the first day. A list of school supplies needed for grade four can be found here: https://www.gcspei.ca/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Supply-List-Gr.-4.pdf.
In addition to the regular school supplies, all students must have access to a personal non-medical mask daily. These will need to be taken home and cleaned every day.
Please remember to self-screen for symptoms every day. In the effort to reduce public health measures, our focus must be on the wellness of our students. If your child has any symptoms, please keep him/her home and follow recommendations from Public Health (please refer to the Back-to-School Plan).
Students will need a lunch box containing a healthy snack and lunch, as well as a drink in a spill-proof container. Since water fountains will be closed due to health and safety procedures, we do recommend students have their own spill-proof water bottles, which will also need to be cleaned daily.
Class Schedule
Students receive a weekly schedule when they arrive in class next week. Please have this available in your home so your child is prepared all the different classes and activities of the day.
If you would like further information about our back to school plan, you can find it here: https://www.gcspei.ca/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Back-To-School-Plan-2021-22.pdf.
