Welcome Back!

I am super excited to meet all the new Grade Five students! Students are expected to arrive at the school by 8:35am to be ready for the new class start time of 8:45am. The Grade Five learning studio is in room 308 at the end of the elementary hallway on the right.

Who Am I?

My name is Mr. Wood and I will be the lead Grade Five teacher this year. I came to GCS in January of 2018 for an internship and quickly fell in love with the students, the school, and PEI in general. I have a passion for Math, Science, and anything athletics. If you have any questions or concerns throughout the year, feel free to email me at mwood@gcspei.ca.

Theme Verse:

Philippians 4: 6-7

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Preparing for the First Day Back

Grace Christian School has been working diligently to develop a plan for students to return to school safely this year. Any information regarding this plan can be found on the home page of the school’s website at https://www.gcspei.ca/. Here are a couple key things to take note of before students arrive on September 8th. Students will be expected to have access to a non-medical mask at all times during each school day. Masks should be taken home and cleaned every day. Elementary classes begin each day at 8:45am this year and end at 2:45pm. When Dropping off and picking up students we ask that you remain in your vehicles and drop your children off at the drive-thru drop off zone only. Grade 5 students will enter and exit the school building through the doors at the back end of the elementary hallway.

Please send in all necessary school supplies on the first day. A list of school supplies needed for grade five can be found here: https://www.gcspei.ca/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Supply-List-Gr.-5-2020-21.pdf. For health and safety purposes all water fountains have been turned off. However, the water bottle filling stations will still operate. We recommend students have their own spill-proof water bottles, which will also need to be cleaned daily. Any unnecessary items are to be left at home.

Again, if you have any questions or concerns throughout the year, feel free to email me at mwood@gcspei.ca.
