Welcome back to school GCS Family,
As we prepare for the first day of classes take a moment to reflect on what an incredible blessing it is that we get to learn in-person again! I am thankful that we can return to school safely, and I am excited for GCS to be back together again.
A Note About Your Teacher:
This is my second year as part of the GCS family! My wife and I moved one year ago from our home city of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. I’m looking forward to teaching some familiar students! It is my prayer that this year would be one that challenges all of us to grow both in faith and academics as we navigate through this new reality we live in.
Our theme verses for the year are from the book of Philippians chapter 4 verses 6 to 7.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
These verses remind us that God does not want us to be anxious about anything, but to trust Him for peace throughout these trying times. I encourage you to reflect on these verses as a family.
Back to School Plan for 2020-2021
This year, the elementary day will begin at 8:45am and end at 2:45pm. Students will be dropped off starting at 8:35am. Grade 6 students will enter in the elementary wing doors that are facing Kirkdale Road. Parents will drop their children off through the drive-thru loop only. Parents must remain in their vehicles while dropping their children off. It is strongly recommended that students arrive at 8:35am to allow time for them to get ready for the day.
Parents will need to pick up their children promptly at 2:45pm in the drive-thru loop.
Students will need to have access to a mask every day. These masks will be stored safely in the classroom, and are required to be washed at home daily.
