Hello! I hope everyone has had a wonderful summer of learning, growing, and having fun. I am so excited to get things started. Our grade five year will be filled with new activities, classes, and teachers to learn from. For those of you who are new to GCS, I am Mrs. Chloe MacDougall. I will be the lead teacher in our grade five learning studio. I have loved teaching and learning alongside our GCS students and I look forward to having wonderful new students with personalities that will make up the culture of our class. I am confident that although this year may still look a little different, our staff is aptly prepared to start the school year and are joyfully anticipating being back at GCS where God has called us and equipped us to be.

Our theme verse for the year will be Isaiah 40:28.

Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.

First Day of School

Tuesday morning, students should arrive at school by 8:35 AM ready to enter our beautiful elementary wing. Parents are instructed to stay in their vehicles in the drop-off zone, with staff assisting students to their entry point. Our grade five class will enter and exit through the doors at the end of the elementary wing that face Kirkdale Road. Classes will begin at 8:45 AM. Students should come with their water bottle, snack, and lunch just as they would for any other school day. Our school day will conclude at 2:45 PM. We ask that you pick up your child promptly through the pick-up/drop-off zone. Students must wear their non-medical mask while entering and exiting the school.

At the end of our first day together, your child will be given a copy of our weekly schedule along with a parent survey. Please read through the survey, answer each question, and send it back to school with your child. As you read through our weekly schedule, take note of specials throughout the week that require different morning preparations.
