Hello Families,

I hope you are enjoying your weekend.

Mrs. Squires and I had a great day in Summerside at the Early Childhood Education Conference.  We learned many things that we will be implementing in our classroom.  For example, did you know that broken crayons and golf pencils actually are better for young children to use as it builds hand muscles and fine motor skills.  Also, developing core strength in the children will help them focus better on learning time as it promotes balance needed so they are not as distracted by their body movements.

Jamaica Missions Trip

This week some of our high school students will be participating in a mission trip to Jamaica. What an incredible time for these young people to allow God use them in a new way to serve others.  It may seem like a long time away, this could be your child someday, as a GCS Jamaica team member.  Please keep these young people and their leaders in your prayers.  I look forward to hearing the stories of their trip.

Move Up Day:

Stay tuned for information on your child visiting the next grade.

Spring Photos:

Cheeese!  This Friday all GCS students will have their Spring Photos taken.  Typically, students who wish to have a photo taken with their sibling(s), the photographer can accommodate this request.  Please send in a short note so I can coordinate this request with other teachers.

Calling all mothers, daughters, and grandmothers!  Please join us at GCS this Saturday, May 12th for a sweet treat, tea, and a craft.  If you have a special person who is like a mother or grandmother to you, bring them along too.  For full details on this event, please check out the form that was sent home with your daughter late last week, or contact Mrs. Able at eable@gcspei.ca.
