Hello Families of GCS Kindergarten,

I’m sure we have all been busy continue cleaning up after Fiona. Please be cautious as you tidy trees and limbs.  Accidents can happen so easily.

I’m very excited about the week coming up:

Science and Technology Week – October 17-21

It’s that time of year again when staff and students of GCS celebrate our Creator and the wonder of science! We have lots of activities planned for next week, including a “Dinosaur Dig” Monday. Students can dress as paleontologists (apron, hat) we have magnifying glasses and I will be bringing in some of my fossils I purchased this summer for the children to investigate.

PS: I heard that a Mama dinosaur came to our school looking for her eggs that were missing. Children can look for her footprints on the sidewalk leading to our classroom…unless the rain washes them away.

We will also have a science activity with our reading buddies.

Please note that Thursday, October 20 is Dress like a STEM Professional Day (STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). That means that your child can come to school dressed as a person in any occupation that would use these disciplines. It is sure to be a fun-filled week of learning!

**Also on Thursday, we will have a visit from a future Veterinarian, so the children are invited to bring in a stuffed animal for an examination.

Dates to Remember

Wednesday, Oct. 20 – Dress Like a STEAM Professional Day
Saturday, Oct. 29 – Grace Baptist Church Pancake Breakfast & Fall Market. All are welcome.

Have a great week!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Perry
