Hello my wonderful GCS Families,

I write to you from my living room today instead of my desk at school. I remind myself that I am thankful for my government acting quickly and strongly for the best interest of our community. I am thankful for the  choices we make to keep the spread of COVID 19 at a minimal. Thank you for the sacrifices you make for your family and all of us at this time. We are all in this together and we will get through this together.

We are so blessed to have a wonderful leadership team at GCS that holds all of our families including mine, in decision making, as we move forward together.

Listed below you will find activities for your children that will give them fun learning opportunities over the next 3 days.

These activities are NOT REQUIRED activities. If you are content with your children having a “snow day” home day, that’s wonderful. If you would like your child to have some school practice at this time, I have provided that for you.

I will include activities that will require little involvement from you parents as I know you have things that need to be tended to… (advertisements will need to be tended to by you)

**Each of these activities can be valued as “1 heart” for their Reading challenge from Mrs. Biech.

The GCS Reading Challenge

During Love of Reading Week, Mrs. Biech launched the GCS Reading Challenge. Students were sent home with “Heart Charts” to track their reading progress in the weeks ahead. Students are strongly encouraged to spend extra time reading over the next few days so that they can fill up their chart!

Bible Fun

Mrs. McGonnell has provided a bible segment for the elementary students so I added her links below if that is an interest to your family.

We encourage all students to take the time to continue learning their assigned Bible verses.  In addition, if your child is looking for an interesting Bible story or devotional, please check out these links below:

Please watch for updates as the current circumstances within our province evolve.

Remember, we are in this together. It will get easier. We love and appreciate all  you do.

God Bless
