Hello GCS Kindergarten Families,

Here we are in week 5!

You have done an extraordinary job leading your child in learning!!!

Hats off to you Mom and Dad.

Just look at what they have been doing because of your guidance.

  1. become very confident in the 1 vowel rule
  2. become more confident in the 2 vowel rule
  3. make words that rhyme
  4. practice counting by 5’s and 10’s to 100
  5. use the addition family 1-5
  6. become more confident in telling time to the hour
  7. review money concepts

Now we will be closing in on our end of the year remembering to focus on our letters and sounds for reading (phonics) and our numbers.

Your child would not be this far without you.

You are leading your family in unprecedented times. You can do this. We can do this together.

Things to watch for this week include:

Monday: Phonics reading 3 words and putting 1 word in a sentence using gestures.

Math: counting by 5’s and 10’s and then Science with Mrs. Squires

Tuesday: Phonics changing the vowels in words to make new words, Math , and then Social Studies with Mrs. Squires

Wednesday: Phonics scavenger letter hunt, Math and then Bible with Mrs. Squires

Thursday: Phonics long and short vowel sort and put in a sentence with gestures, Math, Music and then Library with Mrs. Biech

Friday: Phonics, Math teach Mrs. Perry why you think it is important to count by 5’s or 10’s and then Art with Mrs. Squires
