Welcome to school everyone!  My name is Mrs. Laura Perry and together with my team/mate of 10 years, Mrs. Judy Squires we are excited to be embarking on a fresh new year at Grace Christian School.  We are thankful to be able to return to in-school learning this year and are looking forward to getting to know all our new students and families.

Our theme verse for this year is:

“Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and His understanding no one can fathom.” Isaiah 40:28

First Day of School

Our first day of school will be Tuesday, September 7. Drop off for elementary students will begin at 8:35 am. Class begins at 8:45 am. Parents are asked to stay inside their vehicle and to drop off their child in the drive-thru drop off zone only. Junior and Senior Kindergarten students will enter and exit through the Flex Room door (beside the kindergarten door). The kindergarten school day concludes at 2:45 pm. Parents are asked to pick up their child promptly, once again using the drive-thru drop off/pick up zone. There will be staff members ready to help our youngest students get to our classroom at drop off and back again to your vehicle at the end of the day.

Supplies

We would like to stagger bringing in the supplies over the week.

Tuesday September 8th, please send in:

1) Backpack

2)Lunch bag-labelled with child’s name

3)Indoor footwear that stays at school (please no laces that need to be tied **unless your child knows how to tie their own shoes) sneakers seem to work the best.

4) A full change of clothes (top, bottom, underwear and socks)

5) Non-spill lid water bottle

6) Play dough

7) box of Tissues

Please feel free to send in the remainder of the items throughout the next week or so to make the load easier on your child.

A list of school supplies needed for kindergarten can be found here: https://www.gcspei.ca/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Supply-List-JK-K.pdf

In addition to the regular school supplies, all students must have access to a personal non-medical mask daily. These will need to be taken home and cleaned every day.

Please remember to self-screen for symptoms every day. In the effort to reduce public health measures, our focus must be on the wellness of our students. If your child has any symptoms, please keep him/her home, and follow recommendations from Public Health (please refer to the Back-to-School Plan).

Please do not let your child bring any toys from home. Due to COVID-19 we need to keep anything that is unnecessary out of the school building.

If you would like further information about our back to school plan, you can find it here: https://www.gcspei.ca/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Back-To-School-Plan-2021-22.pdf.
